"Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Kaiser Soze." ~ Verbal

The Usual Suspects

Scare: Quality: Story: Overall:
Kevin Spacey aka Roger 'Verbal' KentKaiser Soze was a myth in the criminal world. As the story went, he was just a small-time Hungarian dope dealer. His enemies decided they wanted their own mob, they wanted more power. They realized that to get power, you only needed the will to do what they other guy wont. These "men of will" went to Soze's house to teach him a lesson - they raped his wife, then waited for him to return before killing one of his children before his eyes. "Then he showed these men of will what will really was." Rather then wanting to see his family live after this, he killed them himself. He shot his two children and his wife in the head, waited long enough to bury his family, and then went after his attackers. He kills their family and their friends, he burns down their houses and where they work. And then he disappears.

Usual Suspects is a story about five men that get suckered into working for this legend without their knowledge. They get recruited for one job - stop a drug deal. Not everyone is expected to live, but the survivors will have $91 million to split. Nothing is quite what it seems, but pay close attention - there are clues all over the place.

"He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. Rat on your pop, and Kaiser Soze will get you. Keaton always said 'I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him. Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Kaiser Soze. You think you can catch Kaiser Soze? You think a guy like that comes this close to getting caught and sticks his head out? If he comes up for anything it'll be to get rid of me. And after that, my guess is you'll never hear from him again." ~ Roger "Verbal" Kint
