It all started on a nice, quiet suburban street. Everybody knew
everybody. They all moved their lawns at the same time, all of the wives gardened,
all the children played outside, you get the idea. Then some new neighbors moved
in, and they were, well, different to say the least. They never came outside,
they liked to dig up their backyard in terrible rainstorms in the middle of
the night, and they had no lawn (it all died). They drove their trash to the
end of their driveway and then beat the hell out of it with a rake. They were
not a normal family, and their neighbors knew that. They had to do something.
The new inhabitants were making the street look bad, very bad. So they sent
the person that lived right next to them to see what was wrong. He drug his
friend and they both came running back. So the women took control and at least
got into the house. From there, the men went insane. They took to breaking fences
and digging holes in the strange families basement only to result in blowing
the entire house up. Yeah for superstition. You see, the men decided that this
new family (the Klopeks) killed the old couple that formerly lived there (The
Naps). Well, after virtually destroying the entire neighborhood, they get their
answer, and Geraldo Rivera agrees to excavate the basement of the Klopeks. Great,
huh. Anyway... This great horror comedy stars such great talent as... Tom Hanks,
Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, and the superb Corey Feldman. But
the best talent is displayed by Courtney Gains, start of a few 80's movies and
one of my favs, "Memphis Belle" (He's Eugenne). He does a wonderful job as the
youngest member of the Klopek family. Yea for Courtney!
