Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Scare: Quality: Story: Overall:
We all know that if anything bad happens, it seems to happen in Texas. It's a tradition in our society, and it just might have started here, with the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre".
The story is pretty traditional for a horror movie. A group of kids go out into the middle of nowhere, run into some crazy people, and get killed! All but one, of course, but this was the beginning of a new form of crazy people that would influence filmmakers for years to come. These crazy people are cannibals. And their main cook is their uncle (if you watch part two, you'll get the sick joke. Trust me, it's sick), and their butcher is Leatherface. He looks like his name too, and he resembles one of the dying demons from Evil Dead too. At least, I've always thought so.
Well, these kids stumble on to Leatherface and his family, and they get killed in some of the most painful and disturbing ways, and this is coming from me. And that's pretty much the story. Sorry it's not more descriptive or exciting, but what can I say, there's really not much of a story or a plot. Big surprise there though. The character of Leatherface is loosely based on the infamous serial killer Ed Gein. In 1957, police from Plainfield, Wisconsin, discovered Eddie's gruesome collection: decapitated corpses, human skulls turned into bowls, lampshades, wastebaskets, and even a whole suit made from human skin. Ed Gein's predilections were so horrendous, they have inspired at least 2 other movie characters: Norman Bates from Psycho and Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb from Silence of the Lambs.
