Modern Vampyres

This newly released film (straight to video in this country, but not in Spain)
by Richard Elfman is yet another way to look at vampires. This is Rick's third
film in twenty years. This one has to do with, well, of course, modern vampires
who live in Hollywood. The main character, Dallas (Curtis Van something) is
a sort of lone vampire, 4 friends, and hated by everyone else, most of all the
Count ( ). The Count (Dracula) hates Dallas because he is a bit good as causing
a bit of trouble. The biggest trouble he caused had to do with Dr. Van Helsing.
He "saved" the good doctor's son by turning him into one. Van Helsing then promised
that he would hunt Dallas down and kill him along with the rest of his kind
after killing his own son. The other big problem was the fact that he created
the vampire known as the Hollywood Slasher. OK, so... this movie is cheesy,
I will admit that, but if you like the obscure films, you will like it just
as I did. The story is silly, but good. It was great. Richard Elfman actually
kept his family members to a minimum in this movie. None of them were main characters
or semi main at all. Danny Elfman, Rick's little brother, did the main theme
and Rick's youngest son _______ played a small part as a paint sniffer. Over
all, I loved this movie. It wasn't great to the popular film ideal, but then
again, very few of the movies I watch willingly aren't either. If you liked "Freeway"
or "Shrunken Heads", then you will like this one too. And thank you Richard,
for the most obscure movies that I have ever loved, "Forbidden Zone" was great.
Keep up the good work.
