This is a supposed true story. A man who's family was killed
in an accident one snowy day buys a house. He is a writer and hopes that he
can get ideas and beat writer's block while in the house. Something or someone
tries to get his attention by tossing his daughter's ball down the stairs. This
just angers the man and the ghost. The ghost then decides to cause noise. After
a while, the man discovers a young cripple boys room in the attic of the house.
He then decides to get a medium over to the house to try and talk to the ghost
in the house, find out what's wrong. The boy's name was Joseph, and he was disabled.
His father was distraught that his son could not walk and was angered that his
son would die before he could inherit the company. But what really got to him
was the fact that his son would never be able to run the family business properly.
So during a bath, he drowned his son. He buried the bones in a well where a
house now is. The father then adopted a boy and went off to Europe with him.
When the two returned he claimed that they found a miracle cure in Europe and
his son could walk now. This boy inherited the business. Joseph wanted revenge
and would get it anyway he could. After his bones were discovered, the boy became
very powerful and exacted his revenge burning down the house in the process.
I have been told that this really happened in Denver, CO. The house is still
standing though, and it's the Cheesman house in Cheesman park.
