Richard Elfman
Richard Elfman is the son of Novelist Claire Elfman and father
of Actor Bodhi Elfman who is married to Jenna Elfman. Rick is the older brother
of musical composer and leadsinger of Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman. Rick is the
founder of the musical group Oingo Boingo, originally called The Mystic Knights
of Oingo Boingo. He featured them in his first film, "Forbidden Zone" (1980)
along with his wife, Marie-Pasquelle and Hervé Villechaize. The film is about
the sixth dimension also known as the Forbidden Zone and the adventures of Frenchie
(Marie-Pasquelle) in the Sixth Dimension. Danny Elfman composed the score to
this film, and if you haven't heard it, try and find it somewhere, it is great!
:) Rick's second film is "Shrunken Heads". This film features his son Bodhi
as one of the villains. This is a horror comedy about three boys that are gunned
down by the neighborhood gang and come back as shrunken heads to exact revenge.
Danny did the main title for this one as well as the next one. Rick's latest
is "Modern Vampires" with Casper Van Dien and Natasha Wagner. This is a horror
comedy about, well, Modern Vampires. It's cast is wonderful, and the story is
like a breath of fresh air in the vampire world (no pun intended for you Buffy
the Vampire Slayer fans). Rick has always been an interesting person, very creative
and full of energy. This carries over into his films and makes them what they
are. If you haven't at least seen Modern Vamps, then run to your local video
store and rent it. I think you'll love it, I did.
