Liam Neeson
Born: June 7, 1952 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland
Liam was born in Ireland and formally worked as a forklift operator
for Guinness. He also worked as a truck driver and an assistant architect. He
was also an amateur boxer. Originally wanted to be a teacher, and attended Queens
College in Belfast. Neeson joined the Belfast Lyric Players' Theatre. He performed
the classics. He was first in a film called "Excalibur" in 1981. He acted in
a number of films and TV mini-series until he gained notice for his role in
"Suspect" (1987, and those of you that love him for his voice, you might not
want to watch this, he plays a deaf mute. Sorry) His first lead in a movie was
"Darkman" in 1990. Eventually, he was led to play Oscar Schindler in "Schindler's
List" in 1993. For that role he was nominated for a Golden Globe. In 1993 he
also made his first Broadway debut. In the next two years, Neeson played a couple
of roles close to his roots (one more then the other). First was "Rob Roy" in
1995 and then there was "Michael Collins" in 1996. In 1999 he joined the history
of Jedis when he played Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in "Star Wars Episode One:
The Phantom Menace". That year he also revived a role (in a way) in the "remake"
of a horror classic, "The Haunting".
